XC Superstructure

The structure of the sole (contact area between ski and snow surface) affects the gliding qualities of the ski. In this gliding process to friction effects by the snow crystals and to suction effects by the water contained in the snow, appear. By special sole structures these effects can be decreased and/or switched off. Sole structures can be stamped manually with TRI-MAXX and XC-SUPERSTRUCTURE professionally.

TRI-MAXX
three different, interrupted structures
0.5 mm for dry snow
0.9 mm for old or humid new-fallen snow
1.25 mm for wet/very wet snow

APPLICATION:
1. Fix the ski onto a waxing horse.
2. The ski is even and cleaned.
3. Now wax as used to, scrape off with the plastic scraper and brush.
4. Take the TRI-MAXX with both hands. Put the structure roll and one of the leading rolls on the sole taking care about the direction (arrows on the tool).
5. Move TRI-MAXX under constant firm pressure, slowly and without wobbling in running direction.
6. Finally brush the ski with HOLMENKOL horsehair brush

XC-SUPERSTRUCTURE
Thee Cross Structure Tool for Cross Country Skis. Enormous improvement of the gliding of the skis on
compact, wet or glazed snow.
• Ergonomically shape.
• Safe and precise guidance along the edge of the ski.
• Reversible stamp structure is gentle to the ski base.
• Distance in between the rills: max. 2 mm, Crossing of rills every 32 mm.

INSTRUCTION FOR USE:
1. The base of the ski should be even and it should be structured with a universal stone-grind.
2. Ski should be fixed on to the waxing horse (Art.-No. 20726).
3. Before structuring the ski it should be cleaned and waxed completely according to the HOLMENKOL®
waxing chart including the preparation with finish wax.
4. Put on XC-Superstructure-tool at the top end of the ski. Even pressure with the palm of your hand on top
of XC-Superstructure to ensure same pressure on both rolls. Push XC-Superstructure once from the top to
the end of the ski. Correct use will create a structure like picture below.
5. Finally use Horsehair-Brush to brush remaining
wax off the ski (Art.-No 20662).

ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGE OF XC-SUPERSTRUCTURE:
This type of stamp-structure is reversible by waxing the ski with waxing-iron. This way of structuring the
base can be made as special and different for different conditions like using different wax for different snow
and weather conditions.
