As in previous years the final of the Triathlon League Baden-Wuerttemberg took place on Schluchsee. Everyone who has seen the weather forecast knew what is expected. Cool 7 ° C to 15 ° C, wind and lots of rain....

Well, this is definitely not that bad I thought ... but I was taught! 8 ° C much wind and rain! No dreamlike conditions for a very challenging Olympic distance. It was sure "the race will take place", so me and the other starters could do only one thing: to stay mentally strong and just concentrate on the competition and the push the awful weather out of your mind! The race started at 12: 25 clock and for us as a team, it was time to fight, fight, fight ....

We knew we had to win the league finals, to ensure the promotion into the 1st League.

My ambitions:
Due to the hilly bike and running course, I had put up simple tactics before the race: swimming, cycling and running alone!
Slipstream drive was allowed, which meant for me to drive as fast as my followers! Due to the strong wind, I had the fear that my follower group could catch me up again.
Everything came just as I wanted it to be, I was the first who left the waters of the Schluchsee and changed to my machine! The wet roads required your full attention, but I came back to the transition zone as first. Slightly worn out because of the solo ride and the awful weather I still had to run 10 kilometers. I couldn´t run that fast, but in the end I had the 9 fastest run time on this day. Somewhat surprising but very pleasing! I expanded my advantage to the competition to 1: 30 minutes and placed first. Each start a victory, this is the main essence of the league this season! I ´m very happy with this performance and look forward to the next hard races! With the International Triathlon in Breisgau, mid-August, there is still a big challenge ahead of me, but I'm hot on my first mid-distance !!!!!

Due to good team performance, we won the day's victory and the second table space and so the direct promotion !!!!!
